Hands on...
Community Councils are one of those groups who have been set up by law to represent the views of the local community. See a list of Renfrewshire Community Councils here
Advisory...
We have a lot of people and groups who help us in various fields, some are government sponsored and some are there because Governments, local and national can be deaf and they need us to shout so they can hear us:

Political Processes
We have various politicians who represent us in the different seats of democracy. Councillors do this at a local level, while MP's (Member of Parliament) represents your views in Westminster, while MSP's (Member of the Scottish Parliament) represent us in the Scottish Parliament.
If you have a vote use it, one of the key ways to protect our community is to vote!

The devolved Government for Scotland is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, rural affairs, and transport.
It manages an annual budget of more than £30 billion in 2007-2008.
The Government was known as the Scottish Executive when it was established in 1999 following the first elections to the Scottish Parliament. The current administration was formed after elections in May 2007.
The Scottish Government is led by a First Minister who is nominated by the Parliament and in turn appoints the other Scottish Ministers who make up the Cabinet.
Civil servants in Scotland are accountable to Scottish Ministers, who are themselves accountable to the Scottish Parliament.

Bishopton Action Group
Fighting against the creation of a housing estate on the contaminated lands of the old Royal Ordenance Factory at Bishopton. They have proven flawed data, ineptitude and some highly questionable actions by the local council. We include them here because of the potentially serious health risk posed to the Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde areas should they start to burn the buildings and dig up the land. More areas if the wind blows your way.
