PAISLEY ARTS CENTRE
Central Box Office @ Paisley Arts Centre 0141 887 1010 Monday - Friday 9.15am - 4.45pm, (opens in a new window) Events in Paisley: Funny: Don't Make Me Laugh
Friday 5 February Paisley Arts Centre 7.30pm £10 (£6 conc) You shouldn't laugh. You don't want to laugh. But you do laugh. Your jaws ache and your eyes water. This is comedy. Why do we laugh? What is it in us that boils up and takes over. It feels so good but why does it happen? When it shouldn't happen – auntie’s funeral, colleague’s wedding, first meal with in-laws – why is it impossible to control? Laughter can hurt. Humour is power. 'Funny' is based on real reports from secret places, and the closer it gets to the truth the less you're going to believe it. You shouldn't be here. You don't want to be here. But you are here. Your body aches and your eyes water. This is interrogation. Magic: A Kind of Queen
Saturday 20 February Paisley Town Hall 7.30pm £12 (£10 conc) Enjoy Queen’s greatest hits at Paisley Town Hall. Top tribute band, Magic are back on tour with a bigger line up, delivering their unique Queen sound with more energy and explosive power than ever before! Come along and enjoy live performances of Killer Queen, A Kind of Magic, and of course the anthem, Bohemian Rhapsody. A great night’s entertainment not to be missed! Promises Promises
Paisley Arts Centre 7.30pm £10 (£6 conc) Maggie Brodie is back at her local school for a few days supply teaching. It’s going to be a tough day - the headmaster is an idiot, her work colleagues are fools and Maggie’s craving for alcohol is great. Then there’s Rosie – 6 years old, red shoes, believed to be possessed. Maggie needs to take action. Drastic action. Douglas Maxwell’s tense new thriller combines projection and a specially composed soundtrack making Promises Promises an unmissable production. |
